Kestrel puffed out her cheeks, exhaled, and looked around. Her mother was right. She did have exams coming up. There wasn't anything that she could do about Boron at the moment, and now it looked as though chasing after her grandmother's letter was a bad idea too.
She really didn't like the look of those horsemen. She had a bad feeling about following them. It wouldn't make much difference really. She would just ahve to wait an extra day or two to get her letter. She would see Mrs. Plover about it tomorrow. Today, she was running out of time. She had hoped to be able to announce to her family tonight that she had a future, and a better one than they would have expected for her. Now she would just have to rely on her self to make sure that her test scores were what they should be.
Not that things wouldn't work out with Boron eventually, she told herself sternly. It was just that without a ring on her finger, she would be a fool to not do everything she could to make sure she had a back up plan.
